One on one time at the ballpark

Lauren and Annika each won free tickets to a Cards game through the summmer reading program. The only nights that worked were against the Pirates the last week of the season (not exactly exciting baseball, but the girls didn't care). I went with Lauren on Monday night and Karl took Annika on Tuesday night.

Lauren's first ever ride on the Metro! We left the game after the 5th inning (hence, nobody else on the train).

Apple Pickin'

October, 2010
October, 2008
So we got a little distracted from apple pickin'. . .Annika called this the "jumpoline." As we used to say at Camp, "that's not indigenous!"
Sippin' cider
Apple pickin' - now that's indigenous!

For Grandpa Blankespoor - isn't she a natural?
Yes, they are both clawing our faces.
Lauren loves her Grandma!

Grandpa and Grandma Time!

Annika and Lauren spent lots of time coloring with Grandma.
Annika gets to pick out a book at the school library once a week. This week she picked out "The History of Ballparks" and asked Grandpa to read it to her. I think it's confirmed - we have a baseball fan on our hands!
The fence is almost done!
Thanks to Grandpa Pollack and Karl for all their hard work on the fence!
The annual hot air balloon race. . .
