December Happenings

One more year of Lowe's Christmas tree shopping. . .next year we'll go cut our own - promise!  As you can see, it was a very mild day.

We let Audrey and Sami participate in the tree trimming this year.  It went fine until. . .
Audrey decided to carry some glass ornaments over the ceramic tile.

As the grand finale of tree trimming, Lauren dramatically placed the star on top of the tree. . .
only to hear Annika insisting on having a turn as well.
Another mild day in December.  Yes, they are still in their pj's.

Whoever said you need rain to wear a rain jacket?!
 Audrey loves dress up.
 Sami loves birthdays.
Boxes really are the best toys.
Here's Audrey after her eye surgery.  Her eyes were quite sensitive to light so she got to use my sunglasses at the dinner table.

Nothing says December like. . .growing a beard???
CCS Christmas program.  Lauren is 2 from the left in the front row.
Annika was so excited to sing at the Christmas program.  She had a huge smile on her face the whole night while singing her heart out.
Our Kingdom Group white elephant party got a little crazy when Annika decided to try on everyone's gifts.  Clearly, she has the gift of entertaining. . .
How could someone so cute have stolen her sister's ballet outfit and put it on?
No snow in December? No problem - grass sledding!

 Christmas cookies!
No wonder Sami wakes up a lot at night. . .check out this sleep position!
Here is Annika sorting the presents - another gift of hers!
 O Come O Come Emmanuel. . .

Are we going to get matching gifts for the rest of our lives????  Thankfully, at this point they don't care.

 Bring on the snow!
I'm a little unclear as to what color that bike is. . .can you say PINK?
We have entered the world of gaming with xbox kinect.  At least its entertaining and keeps them moving.
With 4 girls participating it became much harder to keep track of whose turn it was to add to the nativity calendar.

November Birthdays

We surpised Ashley (nov. 26 bday) by showing up to her house for an early morning donut birthday party.

Homemade carrot cake for my birthday (Nov. 29).  Thanks to Terri, Karl didn't even have to bake a cake this year!
Brownie treats at school on Annika's birthday (nov. 30).  How is it possible that our sweet little annika is 7 already?!

So Ashley was given a store bought cake for her birthday but she had too many cakes so it became Annika's birthday cake (this time I got out of making a cake!).  There are definitely some advantages to having birthdays so close together (although it did say "Happy Birthday Ashley" instead of Annika - Annika didn't care as long as she got to eat one of the giant yellow flowers).
Who lets a 7 year old handle matches?!
The annual photo shoot with Ashley. . .

November Happenings

Just before Thanksgiving I had the privilege of attending the 1st grade Pilgrim Tour.  Annika was very proud of the pilgrim village she helped create.

After the Pilgrim Tour we went downstairs and enjoyed a Pilgrim Feast with Lauren.

Miss Sarah helped Annika and Lauren make a clown fish cake in honor of both their birthdays.
4 girls eager to stuff their faces!
We took all four to a Blues game (courtesy of the summer reading program).  Annika and Lauren loved it - especially the popcorn.
Audrey, on the other hand, was NOT a big fan.  To this day she still talks about how the hockey game was "too loud!"

Thanksgiving Day dinner with friends.  Thanks for the table, Mom and Dad!
Miss Sage was very popular with the girls.
Audrey was happy to have Miss Linda help her with her socks.
I suprised Karl on game day with a "new" outfit for Sami.  hee hee.
Audrey and Sami can't wait for some snow!
All I want for Christmas is my one front tooth!
