October weekend

 We enjoyed a beautiful fall hike at Powder Valley Nature Center.

 Christine Ryan spent the morning with us.

 Forest Park has an annual family festival in October.  It's always a big hit with the girls.

 This turtle has a radioactive tracer on it.  After being introduced to him, we used the sensor to find him back.    He was hiding under the box below.

 Who wouldn't want their picture taken with a leaf eating alpaca?  (notice Sami is missing from these pics)

 Who wouldn't want to ride a pony at the park?  (hint:  she didn't like the alpaca either)

 Sami may not have been into live animals, but she was fired up for fishing. . .

3K field trip to Acorn Park

One of the advantages to Audrey and Sami being the youngest is that I never have a younger sibling to watch when they have a field trip.  I spent this October morning with their class at a park within walking distance from school.  

 They made collection bags for all their natural treasures.

 It was actually a pretty chilly morning. . .we were very thankful when the sun came out.
